Default Any suggestions? R,1st,3rd, 5th OK: 2nd, 4th, 6th won't slip into gear.

Never had any problems with transmission. The clutch is the OEM with 31K on it. Car was running fine coming into work. Parked with it in reverse and the front wheels turned sharp right. Get in at lunch and it was hard to get it out of reverse. It slips into all the forward position gears (R, 1st, 3rd, 5th). I will not slip into any of the back position gears (2nd, 4th, and 6th). Any suggestions about what I should check or look at before I take it to the shop?

FYI - I do feel I may be at the end of the clutch's lifespan, because I smoked the clutch on a launch about 5 months back. Since then I have babied the car when taking off.

Default You may have a cable linkage problem..>

Since 2/4/6 are all back (pushes the cable linkage forward). Take a look under the hood..

I agree with Steve (not that that's risky) At the least, try the linkage adjustment procedure.

Default Thanks everyone, you saved me $$ again.. >

I took a picture but there is problem uploading pictures. I opened up the hood and looked where the linkage is and there was something that looked like a light green ball on top of the linkage. I reached down a picked up a freak'n black walnut with the green shell on it.

It's all my fault. I took the bottom engine protective covering off during the last oil change. I see all kinds of black marks from the linkage on the walnut, but I also see little teeth marks. DAMN SQUIRRELS.

Thanks again everyone. Steve, this is the third time you nailed it for me.
