Sorry, but not on a '01 roadster. Even manual says not height adj

There are stays under the caps at the base of the the headreat stems, take them out and adjust.

Default I read you can pop the plastic cover off and remove the pin...>

...that holds them up so high. I had some links saved but they must be at home.

IIRC you pop off the little circular cover where the rod goes into the seat and there is a retaining pin in the rod that holds up the headrest. pull it out and they will go all the way down.

I'm assuming you're talking about a roadster. I tried to search but as you know, it sucks.

Default Yes. It's a permanent fix

And all you need is a screwdriver. Follw the images in TTig's fotki album:

Be aware: the headrests are at their stock height for safety reasons.
