Particularly a business using noncommercial marine frequencies?

So far I can't find much on the FCC website short of a mailing address and a list of the pile of stuff I have to send 'em. Looking for something where I don't have to go through all kinds of B/S to help them.

Default They're a huge bureacracy.....>>>

Everything is now done on line, much of it subbed out. I'm still trying to figure out how to renew my Ham license (15 pages of instructions)....You might have better luck with a field office, or the Coast guard (sounds like you're near the water?) as they have a vested interest in correct Marine Band frequency usage...

Default Might try the C.G. --- I thought of the FCC field office, but >>>

They only list a mailing address.

Default There's some FCC Marine contact info here -- also link to USCG page.

I know the Coast Guard monitors use -- got chewed out once for using our VHF radios between cars in a convoy to skiing in Vermont. Even at low power, the Lake Champlain USCG picked it up. You have to learn to talk like you're on the water!

Although now FRS radios are a replacement -- no such thing at the time!

http://wireless.fcc.gov/marine/Welcome.html</a

Default What channel were you on?

No such thing at the time? How 'bout CB? Or GMRS?

I don't have such a problem with people misusing a recreational frequency once in a while... but this is a marina using channel 71 as it's operational frequency... so much so that nobody else can use the frequency.

Anyway, thanks for the info.

Where are you located. I probably can get you the number for the regional field office.

FCC is pretty much an impotent, lazy and unresponsive group these days. Look to CG as Schwing said.

Default Re: Houston

The FCC has a Resident Agent in Houston who can investigate. I cannot locate a phone number, but suggest you call Denny P Carlton, the Director of all Field Offices in the South Central Regional at(816)316-1234.

Default Cool... thanks for that info, I'll try it ...

I don't feel like it's my responsibility to go through all kinds of crap to help them, but if I can make a few phones calls, I feel like it's part of the priveledge of using the airwaves for free.

Thanks for the help!
