My OEM horns are mounted there on my '01 180 (with its single OEM SMIC on the passenger side), one horn under each headlight. Because the wiring is there, my new Hellas will go there--no need to remove the bumper, either.

Two questions as I contemplate my install:

1) Did you fabricate a custom mounting bracket, or gerry rig something with the OEM mounting?

2) Did you remove the blanking plates that sit behind the small mesh grills? Normally, the driver-side one is completely blanked off, the pass-side is open about 1/2 of the way... not really sure why it's blanked off unless the idea is to protect the SMIC from flying debris. I'll open up the driver-side one when I run fresh air feeds to my VTDA, but until then, I'm wondering if I should simply remove them.

What did you do with yours?

Mostly the same thing on the passenger side.
