Yes- actually had an A4 w/ a CLEAN new state title.
I got my money's worth. Car was straight, inspected by GA DOT. Traded it (told dealership) and got a decent value.
I'd have to say 'caveat emptor'. IT depends on not just the car, but the salvager, and the scope of repairs.

My friend and his family have bought more than one >>>
The 3 cars they had were all fine but like InTTruder says the salvage yard they bought them from (the same each time) and what was actually done to the car (flood damage especially would be a big concern) is a big part of it just like when buying any used and repaired car. We learned of them by word of mouth from others that have purchased cars from them.
Resale could be a problem because the title will note it was a salvaged car (at least in PA it does).

What if it was a theft recovery of a car that was driven into water by the car theives? >>
My point is theft recovery really doesn't mean anything without knowing what was done to the car and the extent of the damage.
