Anyone get a muffled bang noise from back end with 180 quattro when you punch it from...
a standing start. When I really get on it from a standing start I get a noise from the back end that kind of sounds like something flew across my hatchback, but I don't have anything in the hatchback loose. I didn't seem to hurt the car but it bothered me to hear it, don't know what it is/was. Any ideas? Thanks

I get this in my 225. A loud-but-muted THUNK. Could he Haldex related (I hope not!)
I've had another 225 driver listen to it, and he said his didn't do that.
I still haven't gone nuts and taken everything out of the back of my car (like the spare tire, the tools, etc) to be SURE it's not just something loose. Once I have done that, I'm planning on asking the dealership to have a listen.

It sounded to me like something was in my hatchback and just flew across and hit the back of the..
inside of the car. But the I remembered I didnt have anything in there! I am wondering if, but I don't know enough about my TT yet, but I am slightly mechanically inclined, if it is the rear end torqueing up somehow against some type of stops or bumpers which would end it's travel to keep it from torqueing up any further? It didn't seem to hurt the car but it scared the **** out of me at first because I thought I broke something. It happened twice so far, and I don't think the car shouldn't be able to take what I'm doing to it, just getting on it hard from a traffic light.

Same Here, but only when the car is cold.......
Mine does the same thing. Sounds like a rock sliding across the trunk and slamming into the side. This has happened 3+ times in mine so far and I can't figure it out. I have a 225QC and beleive it has something to do with the haldex because it only does it when the car is cold. Is this the same problem you guys have or does your's do it even when the car is warm?
