Default Anyone Had Any Issues with a Chipped ECU Going Out?

I had a weird no start issue that I self-diagnosed as the injectors not getting a signal from the ECU to open. I ran out of time to further explore why this was happening as my company sent me overseas for several weeks. I left my TT at the dealer, and they came up with the same conclusion as I had. They are saying that the ECU is not sending the signal to the injectors and asked me if the ECU was chipped. I do have a GIAC chip in there, which was bought by the previous owner. I take it that if the dealer needs to reflash my ECU, I will lose the GIAC tune, is this correct?

Funny thing is I had no issues communicating with the ECU via VAG-COM, but I assume a small portion of the board (i.e. injector drivers) could have failed. Anyone have any issues with a chipped ECU going out? Thanks.

just out of curiousity what were the symptoms? you could always try and get hold of a 2nd hand ECU and have your ecu file cloned onto the new one.
