and if they stick out from the wheel wells.
I ordered some RH Alurad 5 Spoke rims in 17 x 8.5. The dealer is unsure of how they will fit, if they will stick out, etc...
I would like to put the 8.5's on the the front and 17 x 9's or maybe 9.5's on the rear.
I only ordered 2 rims to see how they will fit before I order the rears.
The goal is to fit 255 width tires on the rear and maybe 245's on the front.
Thanks,

However, they haven't arrived yet. They should be here next week. I ordered 225/40-18 tires. The offset of the Zender Monza's is 35. I think OEM wheels are 32 so they will stick out slightly more, but the manufacturer told me these wheels will fit my lowered TT and they recommended that I stay with 225/40 tires.
As for going wider, I think you'll need spacers if you plan on going wider than 235's on the rear. The problem with 235's is the overall diameter. 225/45-17's have a diameter of 25.0". 235/45's are 25.3 and 235/40's are 24.4.
And if you're planning on lowering, you'll have even more of a clearance problem on wider tires. I looked very hard to find someone who has done this so I wouldn't make a costly mistake, but was unable to find any good info.
Good luck!

225/40/17 = 24.96
225/40/18 = 24.70
235/40/18 = 25.40
245/35/18 = 24.78
What about 225/40/18 Front
245/35/18 Rear (for looks)
or even better ... like Corvette c-5 etc.... 225/45/17 Front
245/35/18 Rear
Bye

... the effect on handling would be a tad towards understeer. Not something to brag about to the guys. Same rubber f/r would be the natural thing to do. 18" would be an improvement on good roads, but would look a bit silly unless accompanied by radical lowering.
