Anyone have a California Water Blade? Any scratches or other problems?

As I was drying my car off this morning (doing the dab and pat with a terry towel technique), I realized that drying the car takes twice as long as washing it. (At least it does for me, since I don't like to pull a towel over the surface).
I was thinking of getting a California Water Blade, but it seems too good to be true. After all, if you are "squeegeeing" right on the clearcoat, aren't you also taking off some wax and/or abrading the surface? Also, can anything they sell in Walmart right next to the Slick50 be good for your car?
Any advice is appreciated.

Since you need a towel for most of the cars curves, edges etc... I keep it in the Eurovan which has a large glass and flat areas. I use two chamois on the TT (prefer Absorber over p21s) and use one for the upper surfaces and the other for under trunk lid, hood, door sills and lower body. I think it nearly as fast but safer because you don't have to rub to remove the water such as with the Blade, and I do worry about the surface friction and possibility of grit scratching the surface. The Blade is also expensive at Wal-Mart at $20.00.

It does help dry off the car. It does save on laundry. I have not noticed any scratches from it. It will not wisk any more than about 55% of the water off of my car due to various seams and bumps. It works best on a surface like a door.
Keep in mind my roof rack gets in the way of my using it very effectively on the roof, so I would guess a 70% wisk rate is attainable.
It's not as great as the CA mini-duster, which is a real time saver, but it is useful.
