Default Anyone have an N75 fail? What were the symptoms?

Started having some problems last week where I'd get pretty hard hesitation while accelerating. It feels like misfires where power cuts out completely but doesn't sound quite the same. Also some surging on the boost gauge when the power cuts and sometimes it tries to spike all the way to 30psi.

If it was just the power cut out under load I'd suspect misfires but the spikes to over 25psi have me leaning towards the N75.

Default I had one fail

When it started to go boost would cycle from it's normal peak to about 5-10 pounds below peak.

Default mine was "sticky" and caused hesitation like you've described

could be the case... it sounds like you might have a bit of "coil pac-itis" too...

Default I thought coilpacks too

so put in new spark plugs and new coils in #1 and #2. #3 and #4 got new coils fairly recently, I think less than a year. Still possible they've already failed I guess. Still not sure why I would get spikes to 25+ psi tho.

Default "why I would get spikes to 25+ psi tho"... I hear 'ya

spikes do sound more like the N75...

but, if it's like my car it'll need an N75 AND a set of pacs before it's happy again

Default heh well I'm halfway there then :)

Going to try the N75 from the blue car this weekend and see if it fixes it. Would rather diagnose it than throw money at it.

Funny thing is it started doing this last week so I started doing more WOT runs, on boost all the time, trying to get it to trip a fault (never did) and then the problems went away and everything was good as new. The intermittent-ness of it makes me suspect something electrical rather than a vacuum leak somewhere. The other theory I have is the N249 but seems like that would just be surging at low boost or not holding boost, still wouldn't explain the high spikes.

Default Hmm I have extreme hesitations as well. But only occasionally... I wonder N75 too...

I guess I could disconnect the N75 and just run the boost machine as a MBC and see if I get the hesitations still

Default Sell it.

Just teh kidding. Hows about swapping the blue car's N75 ***TEMPORARILY*** (No, Dani's car isn't a parts car) to see if that solves your issue.
