Default Anyone here from East London, England? someone asked my info for certified check..

is it safe to give out my name, address, and phone number?
It is for apartment payment.
I am afraid it may be the same thing like those buyers in ebay that bought something from tters last time.

this is copy of the email:

"Hello,

why is it that most scam letters seem to have very bad spelling and grammar?

Default To send you a check>>

which will be for an amount greater than what was agreed-upon. You should deposit the check, and as instructed send them a portion of the overpayment back.

Of course, a week or so later the check they sent will have bounced and you'll be out whatever you sent back to them.

Default My theory>>

is that it is intentional.

If you were to read something like that stated in perfect English, anyone would be really skeptical.

Since the person appears obviously foreign, it might help to confuse a not-so-bright person enough to actually complying.

I'm sure the success rate these days of this type of scam is 1 / 10,000 or even worse.
