Default Anyone here ever considered cutting a hole in your hood and putting in a hood scoop?

Or venting on the hood to cool off the engine compartment?

I was thinking about it for venting. I just couldn't think of a way that would look good.

Default Yes, but I stopped when I realized my car is not a 1978 Trans Am

with a screaming chicken on the hood.

Default scoop? no, but a vented indentation would look better. dunno what they are called

I wouldnt do either unless real reductions in heat soak can be realized.

Default Dont be jealous but, I got my TTDA!.... Im not talking a 70' camaro shaker hood, some venting is all

I think that a long (2'), thin (2") opening along the front of the hood and maybe a couple exhaust ports out the back of the hood directed away from the windshield would cool it off tremendously without fogging up your port hole. The force of the air coming in and across the engine would suck out the hot air from around the engine and push it out the back, in theory. I think a custom carbon fibre hood is in order.
