Anyone know altitude conversion factors for 0-60 or 1/4 times?

Default Try using NHRA's Elapsed Time altitude correction factor. (see the link)

If you just use the ET factor, a 6.0 sec time would convert to:

6 sec @ 2000ft. = 5.86 @ Sea level

6 sec @ 5000ft. = 5.63 @ Sea level

If you use both ET and MPH factor, you'd multiply your time by the ET factor and divide by the MPH factor. I lean toward using both factors. That would convert to:

6 sec @ 2000ft = 5.75 @ SL

6 sec @ 5000ft = 5.28 @ SL

Remember this is only an altitude correction and not a weather correction.

Any other ideas ?<ul><li><a href="http://users.erols.com/cosby/ta/altitude.html">http://users.erols.com/cosby/ta/altitude.html</a</li></ul>

Default I can't see the link. :(

I think turbo engines are less (not?) prone to altitude changes. Could you please post the link (again?).

Thanks...

Default Doh! Brain fa#t on my part.

You make a good point. Until turbo gets to it's limits of pumping air, it should compensate for air density because the controller senses boost.

Were not turbochargers originally used on aircraft engines to compensate for loss of air density with altitude?

It would be interesting to test the same car at two altitudes at least 4000 ft. apart on the same day. Anyone in the Rockies willing to try?
