Default Oh, right. Barrett Jackson is so over priced. I don't think they are a guage by any means.

The cars they sell are what "they" think they should sell for, not the general buying public. Amazing that they get away with what they do. But if one has money to spit, then more power to them. I've seen some shows on TV and just amazed at the kind of money people spend without a blink. And to think that many cars back in the 50's and 60's don't even drive that well.

I wasn't slamming your help, I just can't base a price off of Barret Jackson for appraising my car. I've been all through the internet tonight and prices are all over the map. Some are under $7k and others are reaching near $40K. The condition mine is in might well bring $30K based on the cross-section of what I see. The less it is worth in my situation for this tax scenario is all the better oddly enough.

Default you should check out the early auction days >

while any auction by it's nature tends to be inflated, and even the more so with buyers & sellers commissions, the early days tend to be cars in the $10,000 to $40,000 range. If you want a low value, just consider it a used car and add a premium; conversly, you can deduct a percentage if you happen to see one at an auction site - as you already know, there are more than a few.

I'm going to take it to a local shop that sells antiques exclusively. They only want $40 for an appraisal. Pretty good! If it is worth $30 or $40K I just might bail on given my scenario, but not sure just yet. Don't want to jump to any conclusions quite yet.

The GT 390 is priced a little more than the XR7. Sweet!
