Default anyone know how to get touch up paint off.

before i owned the car someone put touch up paint all over the car, including many scratches that would look less noticable if they were left alone. anyway to get it off. i was thinking about 3M adhesive remover b/c in the sun the touch up paint seems a little rubbery.
thanks

Default If there is no clearcoat on the touch up you MAY be able to use paint thinner. Try it out on an

unobtrusive scratch and be ready to wipe it off fast. I took spray paint off with thinner and compound. Clearcoat is regular paint thinner safe. If that doesn't work CAREFULLY try polish or very FINE rubbing compound.

Default Plasti-kote makes stuff called "Paint Leveler" found at parts stores

Gets the touchup off, doesn't harm factory paint. You can even use it to try to clean up the existing touch ups without removing it completely (cloth with some Leveler, lightly rub).

I think it may just be auto paint thinner...

Don't use auto paint thinner. That wil damage the clearcoat. Just Home Depot paint thinner.

Then the "Paint Leveler" must not be auto paint thinner- it does not damage the clearcoat
