I am thinking of removing them from my coilovers in order to get a bit more lowering abilities...these are the pss9...i think marcus was thinking the same thing...

Default They exist mainly to keep your suspension in place while the car >>

is lifted in the air. This keeps the spring in it's pearch when the car is returned to the ground. On my H&R's, I have a spare set of "track" rear springs which use a helper. I haven't installed them, but understand that with the weight of the car on them, they completely collapse, and that in the H&R's case they are only to keep the suspension together when the car is lifted.

Hopefully someone who know's this exact setup on the PSS9's can guide you, but I'm guessing that's the case. If so, you could probably remove them as long as you were careful to guide the rear springs onto both top/bottom perches as the car was lowered to the ground.

FWIW

Yep.. just there to keep things in check when you encounter negative travel. When you install them they look pretty useless collapsed.. but that's correct.

I had my suspension professionally installed. The shop maintains a Porsche Cup car which competed at Sebring in the ALMS series.

I'd think that you'd want them.. to keep things quiet. Otherwise.. you might get some noise with things slapping around when your wheels dipped, etc.
