Anyone knows how secondary air injection solenoid works ...
I've been trying to diagnosing my 16795 code and took out the solenoid for testing. I noticed that there are three air ports: one goes to the vacuum reservoir, another one goes to the combi-valve and a third one that is unused which seems to have a common air passage to the second port that goes to the combi-valve. This third port has a piece of foam in it and there is an end cap on it (see pictures).
It just doesn't seem right to me that the unused third port is not vacuum sealed since it has a common air passage to the combi-valve control port. Does anyone know whether it should be or not? If so, what is normally there that vacuum seals it?
Thanks,
Henry

Nevermind ...
air passage from reservoir port to combi-valve port is one way and passage from combi-valve port to the third port is also one way. Looks the third port is there to relief the pressure when the solenoid is opened (thus letting air in from the reservoir to the combi-valve port) and then closed.

your 16795 code may be related to the relay that powers the secondary air pump...
mine was completely fried. even opened it up to see. $6 part.
unfortunately, i first swapped the secondary air pump only to get the 16795 code again...turns out to be the relay switch.

mine (in a VW) was a slightly melted vacuum line near exhaust manifold -
darned thing leaked just a little = gave intermittant cel lights 8 times in 5 months before they saw it.
