Default TyrolSport has a SMIC for the VW and they are testing it on a TT...>>

If it as they say, and for under $800, it will be a great value. My name is on the list.

BTW - Sal is gonna test the dual version on his 225 soon.

I'm at constant over 100 degree weather, and my car does not ride any hotter with FMIC...

Default On my 225, i have not noticed significant gains>>>

in engine temp since my FMIC went in. I monitor it closely as my gauge cluster temp gauge is shot. So i am always using the actual temp coming from the HVAC diag. Car runs between 97-105 cel, depending on load. Pulling a hill in 6th gear, boosting, it will climb.
Now, i have seen 108 on high speed runs, in a full throttle position, AC on in 90+ deg heat, but as soon as i back off, she cools to 100 deg cel....

To help with a little venting of heat, i removed the rear rubber seal at the back of the hood...this gave me 3 deg cel back, while in motion...

Let's face it...turbo's run hot...and venting air from the engine bay, is as important as getting cool air to the intake...

Audi did a pretty good job with the cooling system on this car....

As for the DSMIC vs FMIC...surface area is key as vein direction....personally i vote for a proven solution, not vaporware.

Check schwings fotki..he has pre-post intake numbers for both, as well as a stage 3 with no FMIC comparision.

http://public.fotki.com/ttschwing/intercooler_cooling/</a

Default so with all that it sounds like>>>>>

the advantage of a $1200 FMIC on a 225hp with boost turned up is minimal (in terms of temp decrease)

now here is a more practical question:

does anyone out here got a chipped/BM-ed 225hp with a FMIC that can hold 1.70bar (25psi) at high revv/ speed (over 5k rpm) on a hot day with 91RON pump gas??? ALL THE TIME???

Default I have this installed in my car (mine is the prototype)

It is a noticeable improvement.

I haven't done any dyno testing, but my car is consistent on hard stoplight runs whereas before performance dropped off seriously after 2 or 3.
