The OEM strips are stainless steel and are nice quality. However, there are a ton of sellers offering strips that look similar from the pics, but are drastically different. I know because I bought them before I knew what was up.
The cheapies are low-grade plastic which doesn't stay in place. If you buy them, be sure to get the nice stainless strips.

in place. Hold pressure on each one for a minute. Then use the hair dryer. Parts Mgr. told me this will help them "set". Mine have stayed rock solid since installed. The other key is to make sure you have a really clean surface.

Not saying it's a bad tip, but in my view, that's unnecessary. You'd have a hard time pulling these off, hairdryer or not.

Not saying the hairdryer doesn't help, but again, mine are on very well. I think the biggest factor is the surface prep. You have to use the provided solvent cleaner and make sure all surface crud is removed.
