Interestingly, in my standard Concert stereo, the fader works just fine.

Default Re: Bose changes that.

That is because it is disabled with the Bose version.

Default yes it is possible . . .

but you will be turning off the Bose electronics and turning on the basic concert stereo. It is referred to as "mega bass" on here. It allows greater control over the bass, treble and mid, plus it give you fader control. Why anyone would want to fade the music to midrange rear speakers is beyond me though . . . does not sounds much better, just slightly louder is all.

You need to find someone with a VAG tool to make the change.

Larry, the mega-Bose code does not enable the fader.

Default Re: Confused

I thought the MegaBass was equal to the Bose system which DISabled the fader?

Default Don't be confused, you are correct . . .

Every "mega bass" I have seen has the fader turned on and the Bass, treble now goes +/-6 instead of +/-5 and the fader works.

Joel, it has to work because the Bose electronics are what gets turned off and that is what keeps the fader turned off.

Default Definately not.

I have the Mega-Bass coding in my coupe.

This widens the treble and bass settings between stops and extends the range an additional stop. Instead of -5 to +5, the mega-bass enables -6 to +6. The differences between the individual stops as more dramatic as well.

THE FADER IS NOT ENABLED.

I don't know of a single Coupe owner with Bose and an operational fader control. If there is a seperate code for specifically enabling the fader, it has never been posted here.
