Default AP Brakes: These pads are DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!

Sorry for shouting, but these got to be the noisiest brake pads i have used to date. Needs constant cleaning(the caliper/rotor AND rims) and makes my rims look blacker than it already is. The thing is, I have no clue where to buy aftermarket brake pads? Can I just buy the Porsche 996 turbo pads or is there a place I can pick up 'Quiet' pads?

Default Jason, talk to someone (or hopefully they will chime in) about

Porterfields for some of the other brands.

Seems like you can get a reasonably clean pad that works without too much noise.

any help, anyone?

(note: my Pantera has virtually dustless and quiet brake pads, but they fling molten metal into the wheels . . . any comments apprectiated)

Default my stoptechs have been pretty noisy lately too...

..currently using the Axxis Ultimate pads that came with the kit. Just ordered some Mintex Red Box pads to cut down on the dust...hopefully will cut down the squealing too.

Default I went the other route... EMC Green Stuff. If the Mintex (more)

don't work well, don't bother with the EMC's.. they are at least as bad as the Axxis pads that came off.

Let us know about the Mintex please.

Default myroadster.net has Porterfield r4s (street) pads for stoptechs, much cleaner

use a little of that brake antisqueal junk on the back of the pads, no more squeak!

Default My Axiss Ultimates are nosiy but quite down after some hard braking. If you want nosisy get Pagid

Oranges.

They are great on the track, but your car sounds like a bus or truck with squealing brakes around town.
