Default APR 93 chipped ECU question...

Ok so i got a chipped ecu from an AW member last week for my 00' TT quattro and he was running the 93 chip, now my question is, i am in CA and the highest octane i have available is 91, so, do you think it would be a problem running 91 octane with the 93 chip? TIA!

Default It will be a problem. The timing will be set expecting 93, and then it will be pulled

as it starts to knock. My understanding is that if the ECU pulls timing, performance can suffer. If you can find some 100 Octane 76 gas, you can mix it in to get 93, and run that when you can, but run stock when you can't...

Where in CA are you?

Default You can get the home programmer...>

From APR and dump whatever program you want in there. The download off the APR site includes all the files. Just switch it to the 91 and you'll be all good. The programmer cable is $99 I think. I'm a part owner in one but it's been in Missouri for awhile now...:-)
