Default apr chip questions

I'm seriously considering getting the apr chip sometime soon. which programs should i get with it (91 octane, 93 octane, race, etc.)? Should I have someone install the chip or is it easy enough to take the ecu out myself? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Default All right, I'll take this one...

Get whatever you can afford and appropriate for what
gasoline you have.

I have stock, 91, 93, and valet. I can't get 93
octane gas where I live, but when I travel and can
get it, I like having the 93 program - it's smoother
than the 91 program which is a blast in itself over
stock. I also like having stock mode for sanity and
to remind myself the extra hp I'm getting from the chip!

If you can get/are willing to pay for 100 octane
gas, I'm sure the 100 octane program is a blast,
too.

The ECU is very easy to take out - although you
cannot install the chip in there yourself. APR
does have OBD-port programming, though, which
means you do not have to take the chip out at
all and it gets programmed by the distributor
through the OBD diagnostic port in your car.

Hope this helps and have fun!

Default I love my APR and here is why

partly cause I already had it in my car when I bought it, but also because I can add programs if I want, I can control the programs with my cruise control which means that I dont have any other things cluttering up my interior.

More than that, it was reasonably priced, it works great and I have never had any issues and it makes the TT go Vrrooooooooooom!

You have to have an APR dealer to install the chip 4 sure. Good luck - hope this helps!

My local dealer says APR now has direct port for the older 225s.
