Default APR chips have security lockout >>>

Just spoke to APR since after replacing the battery, my ECU went into stock mode and lost the ability to switch programs using the cruise control stalk. They mentioned the security lockout feature on battery disconnect.

Very cool, but inconvenient since this would happen everytime the batt is disconnected.

Just FYI and want to vent; esp since I am so glad to be back driving the TT and am now stuch in stock mode for a few days.

Some APR chips have that... not mine, what do you have to do to reset it?

Default What kind of security does that bring ya?

What a worthless feature, who/what's being secured by restricting you to Stock mode?

Default Changing programs only ...>

Security Lockout
Prevents unauthorized personnel from accessing EMCS functions. The user may select any 1 to 4 digit security code. The security code is entered using the cruise control buttons.

Unless you have the full anti-theft which prevents starting...<ul><li><a href="http://www.goapr.com/Audi/products/antitheft.html">APR anti-theft program</a></li></ul>

So it's only a problem if you forget/don't have your code. Makes Sense
