Default APR: Difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 (ECU wise?)

I'm wondering if there is any difference at all between APR Stage 1 and APR Stage 2 ECU wise. Do they modify the ECU at all for Stage 1 differently than Stage 1 to somehow give you better performance, or is stage 2 simply the ECU + exhaust where the ECU is exactly the same.

I figure it's exactly the same, but I just want to make sure.

Thanks
