APR is not performing as everyone has suggested

I purchased the APR chip set up, and chip "failed". Following this I contacted APR, and Jeremy answered. I raised 3 issues.
1. APR has no 24 hour hotline, or 24 hour road assistance
2. When purchasing an APR chip no brochure is given as to operation. ( I think it should be standard procedure, and I know you can download it from web site, but have you ever read it?)
3. I complained about the security break off bolts that are on the ECU, which I later recanted.
I was stuck on the side of the road for about 6 hours. I was equally displeased with the answer from APR. They advised me that "When modifying my car that I am bearing some responsiblity".
It has also been suggested that since the first of the year there has been a dramatic increase in the number of chip failures. I want to know if I have been an isolated incident since January 1st, or am I the norm?

Sorry, but I have to agree with Jeremy on that issue. I also was given information (not really a "brochure" - more like a printed report) that described the chip and all the features. I agree with you that you should be given this with the chip.
Don't know if you're the norm or not. I've had my chip for 3 trouble free years (about 12,000 miles).

I have towing on my auto insurance, but I had driven a total of 5 miles. I thought of contacting Audi towing but had just had my car chipped! The shop had closed but the more important issue is quality, or lack there of. If I had a number to contact I would have called, and they may have been able to get me going.

In fact, I can't recall more than 1 or so, and I think that was a cloning/immobilizer issue...
It usually boils down to a soldering issue when chips fail...

I can't speak about any APR retailer as I purchased directly from APR, with whom I've been happy. Sorry things went poorly for you.
