The report accompanying the videos states:
"APR's Engineering Team began fitting the sibling to the brain child of the R-GTI, the APR Stage III. The APR Stage III is comprised of the same components as the R-GTI only no internal engine modifications are necessary. This results in a very wide powerband with peaks of 382 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque.
Upon completion of the initial prototype of the APR Stage III the first proving ground was the Streets of Willow where the Tuner Challenge was held. A dynamometer test, laps around the road course, 0-60 and braking tests were all performed and the APR Stage III equipped GTI was only bested by its big brother, the R-GTI. APR also received high marks in the styling portion of the competition with our GTI and won the overall event. APR was invited by Volkswagen of America to present our APR Stage III GTI to the world at the 2006 SEMA show in Las Vegas along side the introduction of the R-GTI.
Since winning the Tuner Challenge, APR has logged tens of thousands of miles of street and track miles testing and proving the Stage III concept. The lack of problems seen in the kit in this testing phase, especially given the incredibly short development time, is a testament to the engineering prowess of APR. GO APR!!"
