Default ASR light on and stays on

Like the title says, if I go one rough roads like speed bumps and take a turn really fast the ASR light comes on dashboard and I cannot turn it off. Is this due to bad/broken sensors or module?

Mine does the same thing but in conjunction with the ABS light. Had it diagnosed as a faulty longitudinal acceleration sensor, 27-00-Implausible signal. Part is about $175 and is located in the passenger footwell area. I also notice a strong bias to the drivers side front wheel under heavy acceleration.

Ahhh, you've got it right on the dot.

Ironically a couple of month ago my friend with VAG-Com said it was a faulty acceleration sensor. Thanks for reminding me. By the way does the ASR light coming on put it into limp mode or effect any ECU performance at all. I haven't been notice it and I do have a Quattro so it really isn't necessary.

Hi,
I have 1997 (pre-facelift) Audi A8 D2 FWD, 3.7, European. ASR comes on on a wet weather, on low rpms the car trembles, like rough idling and hard on acceleration. ABS light does not come on though. The ASR light stays for some time but I could not actually spot when it turns off; most likely when I restart the car several times, probably. I read your posts and agree that connection with the ABS is undoubtful, but why the symptoms go off and as if nothing happened after one of attempts to restart the car..
I was wondering if anyone could elaborate on this issue and, please let me know what is that I exactly am looking for in the passenger footwell, how it looks like, or part number. I would appreciate your advice and support. I have impression that somewhere ABS wires can short due to the water getting there. However, the sensor you are talking about is worth of checking also if you could upload a picture or some description of this part.
Thanks
