Default Attention 'Gauge Pak' people, or all those wanting to install a Oil Temp. Gauge

egauges.com has a direct replacement Oil Pan Plug that contains a sensor to drive the VDO Oil Temp Gauge, 310-106D, a 52mm gauge that fits the 'Gauge Pak'.
This should be a very easy way to get a sensor in the TT for this gauge.
I don't have a pic, but it should have a brass terminal fitting on it to accept a wire, or clip-on connector to go to the gauge.
This should make this gauge install a lot easier for all.

Part No: 323-055
Temperature Sender: 300F/150C M14x1.5 $10.63
Directly replaces the Oil Pan Plug, and is the sensor used for the VDO Oil Temp Gauge<ul><li><a href="http://www.egauges.com/vdo_send.asp?Sender=300F_150C">Oil Temp Sensor</a></li></ul>

You might contact egauges to find out. The guy I spoke with knew exactly what I wanted this for.

Default Another alternative - sensor in the oil filter flange factory location where a plug currently exists

Here are the instructions from a guy who did this on Vortex and a pic of the location for the sensor.

For the oil temp, you'll need to install your oil temp sensor in the oil filter flange. I assume you have VDO 323 423. Here is a diagram of the oil filter flange. You'll be removing plug #10.

Yes, this works, but it's a bitch to get at. The VW posting for the Passat *is not* like our setup.
