Early BMWs were frequently found in junkyards in great shape except they had been rear-ended. Why? Because at that time their brakes were in a whole different league from gas-guzzlin' Amuhrican brakes, so they were always stopping in time but out of luck.

According to this article, they measured the distance it takes them to stop from 40 mph. The TT did it in 51.4 feet. Then they say:
"According to the Highway Code, a car should travel from 70mph to 0mph in 75 feet. The Audi knocked nearly 20 feet off that figure."
OK, so not it goes from 0 - 75 - 0 in 50 feet? What da diley yo?
