Default Audi TT 180bhp Quattro

Hi just bought this car
Drove back from Luton fine
Been on drive for around a week
Got in started fine drove half a mile then felt like dropped a cylinder
Limped car to work which was not far.
I then tried to re start a bit later fired on 4 cylinders stopped engine again.
Now doesn’t start at all
Any advice greatly recieved

The first thing I would do is get my hands on a code reader. If it isn't firing the car computer will be reporting some errors and you want to make sure it isn't something serious (like timing belt slipped) before going much further. The engine needs gas, spark, compression, and the correct timing to work. Basic tests: do you hear the fuel pump when you turn the key? Are the spark plugs firing? Do you have good compression? Has the timing belt been changed?

the belt had been changed around 4000 miles ago
car has been sitting for a while from what I can make out
its just rearly strange considering my journey home was a good 80 miles
are coil packs a problem on these cars?
i take on board al what you have said
i will grab a reader tomorrow and see what. Does flag up
