I went with my friend who wants to get a S2000 to the Honda dealer today so he can order his car. The salesman said 1st you can't order a Honda however you can have the red one thats coming in. My friend said great! How much? The salesguy(thief) said $45K. What a joke, for that amount you can buy a Boxster or MZ3. Needless to say there was no sale. My friend is going to see my Audi sales person to order a TT225 like the one I have on order and have about $7K left over for a good vacation. I'm glad most Audi dealers are reasonable and not charging over MSRP.

Both of my local dealers would not even confirm that they had the S2000s although they were delivered to the dealerships. The total for the 2 dealers here is 9 + 11 = 20 and they think they'll get close to a $1Million for the lot? HA!
I just can't imagine anyone behind the wheel of one literally boasting: "hey, I'm stupid! I paid nearly $17K over sticker!" Surely, it won't be like the TT which somewhat says, "hey, look at me, fashionable, elitist, etc." But I do think that gone are the days when someone sprouting the MBenz symbol simply inferred a single digit finger at the rest of the driving public.
Happily enjoying my TT,

The TT's demand is not as high as the new s2000. There are a lot less s2000's coming to the states too. Its only natural for a dealer to infalte the price, but like you said, I dont think they will get away with selling them for $40K+, maybe 35K or so.
