If you take the rubber track inserts out to install attachments, it does kinda' hum in the wind. Try to save the inserts and cut to fit after you install the ski rack. I'm actually looking for some more rubber because I cut mine too much.

Good for you. I just picked up a used one for $450. I understand there are some clear plastic pieces that stick to the roof to protect the paint. Are these similar to the clear-bra material ? Any suggestions on where I could pick up something similar ?

I however won't be using the strips that came with the rack. They are just too thin if you ask me and they only cover a tiny portion where the rack comes into contact to the roof.
I'll end up getting custom shaped 3M material that will cover the entire foot print for the bottom of the roof rack sooner or later. Any place that sells the stuff can cut off a general size for you so that you can trim it up your self. Good luck and congrats on your roof rack as well.

A lot of people have them up here mainly to drag a Moose that they have shot that is too far for ordinary 4X4 vehicles to get to.
But I too have actually taken a dunk in the Arctic Circle when I was on the USCGC Jarvis (Coast Guard). Of course we had our mustangs on but still, it kicked all of our butts.
I even swam over the deepest part of all the Oceans in the world...the Marianas Trench. Oh, and I swam where the international date like and the equator meet. Still, there will always be someone out there that can top that, L!
