Audi TTQ Roadster vs. Boxster S in latest Motor Trend
I guess I was the first to get mine this month.
Of course the Boxster S blows it away in the straight line accelerations tests. I'll just paraphrases them and not give all details:
0-60: 5.3 sec., Boxster S to 6.4 sec., Audi
Quarter mile: 13.9 (impressive), Boxster S to 14.9, Audi
Skidpad: 0.98, Boxster S (wow) to 0.89, Audi
Slalom mph were surprisingly close: 70.2, Boxster to 69.3, Audi.
There is a really intersting discussion on how to get the most out of the Audi in the corners.
MT prefers the TT for the price. The Boxster S is pretty much performing in near 'Vette territory.
I guess this is another comparo for the twelve and thirteen-year-olds to debate in the newsgroups... I'm staying out of it.
Pick up the newest MT and add it to the TT review collection.
-EJS, 2001 225TTC, Silver/Black

Thanks, pretty much made my next decision :-)
Thanks, I asked the forum before for info on the Boxster S, and now I think the decision is down to 2. Out of these cars.... Audi 225 Roadster, Honda S2000, Porsche Boxster S, Porsche 911 Carrera (a little lofty in price, but AMAZING POWER!), M Roadster, and that SLK. This artical helped out a lot. It has not been dropped to the 911 vs. the boxster, and it is a close race. The 911 will hold its value a little better then the Boxster S, but the Boxster S obviously costs less.
Back to the books :-)
Thanks for the artical,
Thanks,
Tom Reminga

Why on Earth do they insist on comparing cars so far apart in price?
It just makes no sense to me. The Boxster S wasn't even in the running for me because I would have had to spend in the high fifties vs. high thirties. If I had the extra $20K I would be driving the Porsche right now. But in my price bracket the only comparable cars are Honda S2000 and BMW Z3 2.3. Easy decision. ;-)

Get the 911 if you are getting a Porsche.
The boxster is know as the cheap man's porsche. Although I like it too, you mise well go all out and go for the master of all cars the 911.
