Default At an automotive auction in NY today, I bought an original 1995 TT press booklet.

Is there anyone with a bed scanner that will recognize nonstandard paper sizes (mine only does 8.5x11 and the fold-outs and things would be neat to include) who wants to scan it? It would be a great thing to have in the AudiWorld TT Model Guide.

It's dated September 1995 and lists the original TT Coupe characteristics. The pictures are all of the concept models, with no "centering ring" on the air vent aluminum, no "headlight dial", off-center TT emblem on aluminum stereo cover, analog dash clock, woven leather seats, downward tailpipes, "foot" side mirrors, no three-quarter window, etc. The final page reads:

Audi AG, 85045 Ingolstadt
09/95-533/1301.06.00

The bag it came in is marked "This press booklet is the primary component of the TT U.S. Press Kit. Information provided courtesy of Audi AG and Audi of America. Printed in Germany."

The most interesting thing is the spec sheet, which I will copy below as best I can. It is listed in both English and German... here's the English:

Weight
Curb weight: 1220kg (2694lb)

Body/Measurements
Type: fully galvanized, unibody construction; aluminum doors, quarter panels, and hood
Number of doors/seats: 3/2 with two rear jump seats

Just thought you guys might be interested... if anyone has a scanner that can do up to 8.5"x20", I'll be happy to mail you the booklet so it can be scanned and put in the AudiWorld Model Guide.

Thanks,

Cameron

Default HP went up, weight went up.

So did you miss an opportunity to drive? Or did you take the TT?

Default Flew into White Plains.

Amazing weight number claimed in the Press Booklet, would put it into Elise Comp Coupe range...

Default Very reasonable...

... winning bid at $35.00, which I suppose could seem like a high price (given that presumably dozens of members of the media got them at no cost), but since it was still a sealed booklet and contained pictures of the concept car not shown in mainstream press, I figured it was worth it.

Honestly, I would have paid $35 for just the original car's stat sheet, so the booklet is gravy.
