Put my gauge in yesterday, install was easy and took about 45 minutes. The hardest part was actually trying to figure out how to get the wipers off. The car boosts ~10.5 on average (WOT), with a few spikes this morning (it was 30 degrees) to about 12. Is that about normal?

instruction tells you otherwise (by way of under wipers). you could have shaved 20 minutes off your install time.
did AWE have them in stock? i thought they were backordered.

I used an APEXi Mechanical 60 mm Black face gauge ($119.00). I gutted the existing Vent and installed the gauge directly, no $125.00 APR adapter pod. I couldn't justify the + $350.00 Delphi system. Not to mention the price of APR or Gauge Pak ($125 - $450). Don't get me wrong I think the APR or Raffi Gauge holders look great I just didn't want to spend the extra $$$.
Also went through Firewall at Gas Pedal for vacuum line.

or else I probably would've realized the wipers didn't need to come off, you're right! And yes, AWE had them in stock when I ordered about a month ago. It is a 2000 180, BTW. What does everyone else boost in stock trim?

now, more than ever, i feel that i need to see what my boost is. i could be spiking, since i have a N75 race valve...but don't even know.

The guage has light blue back lighting that looks like it is a face color not a bulb color. So you have a light blue Boost guage bicklight and white backlight Audi guages. The Delphi is a better match, but cost 4 times as much. For me I would like it to be white lighting but the graphics match so well I'll be happy about the $300 I saved.
