Default

Ooft, I'm going to have this re-tested then. Is 260mA enough to kill the battery over a week?

Default 260ma is still not a lot, but it's higher than what mine is. Not sure what it would.....

take to drain it over a weeks time. That's basically 1/4 amp.

Default there are solar-powered battery tenders (dealers use them a lot) but... >>

... having one sitting on the dash in the windshield sure does announce that "the owner of this car is not around, and probably won't be for a while" so if the parking in your apartment complex aren't really secure, I might be wary of using one.

Default A friend suggests, with the car off, pulling fuses one at a time and testing the current >>

over each one. Is this a valid test to determine if any particular circuit is pulling more than any other? I'd hate to bring the car to a shop just to spend an arm and a leg and have them find nothing wrong (or worse, have it be a bad instrument cluster or something else that'll cost me $$ on top of the shop's $$ cost)

Default Interesting! Well, it's not so much a security thing >>

I'm in a safe neighborhood and everything, but with my apartment I am entitled to two parking stickers, but I have three cars. The TT is "off the records" and just moves between visitor spaces all around the complex.

I see some online..for example this one at Amazon with a cigarette lighter adapter

http://www.amazon.com/Haynes-Solar-Volt-Battery-Tender/dp/B000WA52FQ

Now, I'm not saying this particular one would be a good choice (I don't know if the brand or model is reputable), but is it feasible to leave a battery tender plugged into the cigarette lighter? As long as it's not overcast for a week I assume it would be fine. I just want to prevent another potential battery drain the next time I go away before I have a chance to diagnose the issue (if there is one).

Of course, I did leave the car at my mom's for the week...I could've just as easily asked her to start the car every 2 days and let it idle for a half hour, since it was locked up in her back yard. Sigh, hindsight is 20/20!!
