I would suggest you place your own thread so that everyone can see your problem.
People may not look in my thread.
Interesting that an auto electrician cannot understand what is going on.
Suggest you get a multimeter and check out the draw at the battery and start pulling fuses to see where a parasitic current draw may be coming from.
You should see under 50mA after the car has gone to 'sleep' after a few minutes.
Car radio may be a good start.

Car was good for 3 days and then battery went flat overnight.
Dash combined with central locking is drawing over 1/2 an amp and does not always stop doing it.
Any ideas?
I have seen mention of the display (already been fixed once and no visible issues) and the alarm horn etc that has leaky batteries.
There is a lot of connections between the central locking and the display. Can the central locking cause a parasitic loss whilst causing the display to stay alive and incur a further loss?

The Central Locking (and possibly the display) is sometimes not dropping to sleep. Intermittantly it can stay at 0.5A or sometimes 0.1A or sometimes 0.025A (ie asleep).
Problem is that the windows hang off the central locking fuse, so a bit of a problem to leave it disconnected.
Is this common and can it be fixed or is a new central locking module required?

I cleared the error codes that may have been due to pulling fuses.
Then got:
1570 Turn-Off Delay Terminal 15
29-10 Short to Ground Intermittant.
I will look it up but any quick help would be appreciated.

The delay could be because the alarm sees the door shut and then waits for the door handle to release and then times-out.It's all linked to the comfort module and alarm/ immobilizer.
Too complicated by half!Just a guess.

The 1570 points to something on the passenger side door, you are in Australia so it could be drivers door. There is a micro-switch in the door handle. They do break and can be replaced.

I put a new lock into the driver's door a while ago.
Tested everything this morning with VAG COM and no errors!!!!!!
Tested all the central locking memory blocks and they are all doing the right thing.
Problem said it was intermittent.
Now need to drive it a bit and hope it comes back (or find an expert that can tell me exactly what cabling may be the problem!).

I am chasing an intermittent AC problem at the moment.

If they do not go off after 10 or so seconds then something is keeping the central locking awake. I hope that I can pick when the problem comes back so that I can disconnect the battery (I put in a battery switch on the negative terminal for this and also for ease of testing current draw).
Should then be able to ensure that battery does not run down while at work etc.
I have also ordered the Bentley manual in the hope that it may help! I have the Elsa WIn virtual fsm but only the Workshop repair guide really works. I also have the Audi TT '25' insert wiring manual. It is VERY hard to use to trace shorting problems though.

Signed up to erWin for 24 hours and have been extracting as much info on my model as possible.
Comes up with PDFs in German as the default. You need to change the 'Settings' to English (or whatever) to be able to read the pdf's.
I have saved a lot of pdf files, but I think that there is a 24 hour time limit on them.
Will be printing out everything just in case.
Excellent info on here, including that the 'Terminal 15' mentioned in a lot of problems is actually pin 1 of the blue 32 pin connector that goes into the back of the instrument cluster:

The circuit diagrams show that Terminal 15 is the switched power from the ignition switch. Still, there are a lot of circuits hanging off it.
I think that I will now have enough info to search for my short.

For your edification and to help with finding shorts etc.
The fuses that hang off Terminal 15 are:
5,6,7,8,11,29 and 31.
Lots of options to search here, especially when the short is intermittant.
My car displayed a headlight bulb warning about the same time as the problems occured. So I will be looking at Fuse 5:
E159 - Fresh air/air recirculating flap switch
J151 - Continued coolant circulation relay
J123 - Bulb monitoring device, front
F47 - Brake pedal switch
