Over the weekend I noticed my clock and date reset after starting the car at the quarter wash. I'm thinking that since this is an original battery that the starter drew so much power that it killed the memory. It only did it once and I didn't have the doors open for any real lenght of time to run the batt down. I am currently living with a hot reading temp guage but a resetting clock might get annoying. I'd much rather replace a $70 battery than a $700 cluster. My car was built 5/00 so I guess it wouldn't hurt especially with the upcoming cold season. Now a buddy that works at Autozone recommends a Duralast over an Optima. Whats everyones thoughts? Thought the Optima's and such were the new thing?
