Default It still lags

I have a friend with one. Riding in my S4 (before trading it in) he noticed the turbo lag in his WRX. Riding back in the S4 Avant, while taking it easy he could still feel the difference. The WRX does have turbo lag.

IMHO, the WRX a much nicer looking car in person.

Default S4 Avant = best looking wagon available in US ... by far.

RS4 overall best IMO.

Default We own a couple of WRX's...

and we aren't sure how great these are or not (the ICs). We DO know that some aftermarket ICs for this car are NOT as efficient as the OE unit.

Fun car. No power until 3K RPM. BIG turbo. Doesn't feel nearly as quick as a 225hp TT but maybe that's not fair. Sure is ugly but who cares for $22K! -Pete

Default And some people question why I traded.

My friend with the WRX wanted to get the wagon, but he also wanted the flared wheel wells. He decided the flared wheel wells were more important and got a sedan. He's my only friend that understands getting the wagon.

The RS4 would be nice, but ,like you said, it's not available here.

Why do you own a couple? Testing of products to sell or for personal use/reasons?

Default I think the Kid's WRX coupe (see below) is sporting Euro Rally ECU and...

his exhaust was most definately unstock. I've read where the squirrel cage, in such configuration, is making 300hp in Europe. You folks looking at this market?

Default I'd rather have an S6

Sure the Allroad might be able to go offroad, but it has too much plastic trim, but not so much that you think Aztec. The S6 should look similar to the A6 Avant or the Allroad. Without the plastic, I think the S6 will look better than the Allroad.

I think the S6 is why you could only get the 2.8 for the A6 Avant. I know some people would've gotten the A6 Avant if they could get either the 4.2 or the 2.7TT.

To get back to your question, somewhere below the S4 Avant.

Default I bought one for Winter use...

and then Bob just couldn't stand to be left out. Half serious. We did need one to work with products like Forge and soon Milltek. We have also had the cars fitted by STOPTECH for an upcoming kit. Should be really mean when it snows out. -Pete

Default Actually, well-known the WRX/STi version overheats the intercooler...

It is a mediocre design in a bad location for cooling, but good for packaging. This was written up in detail in Racecar Engineering.
