Initially discovered this one about 2 years ago, but I find myself returning to it time and time again. Had to pick up a bottle this evening, think this is the first 2000 vintage that I've yet had... not bad, though it might need to mature a bit more, but nice, smooth, and warm the entire way. Yummy!

And heck, for $11.99/bottle, it's a bargain IMO.

Now I really need to try their Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon, have read great things about that one in the past.

Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet (Tasting Notes, PDF document)

Default I'm a huge Penfolds fan. Anything you want to know, just ask me.

You're right about the Bin 407. Others not to be missed are Bin 28 Shiraz, Bin 389 Cab Sauv/Shiraz, Bin 2 Cab/Grenache/Morvedre, and the sublime Bin 707 Cab.

Of course, the true pinnacle is Penfolds Grange. If you see it for $160 a bottle buy it. If you see it for less than $200 in a restaurant try it. We're talking the wine voted best in the world several times.

Default I must admit that I know nothing about wine, but I have been enjoying Shiraz wine...

on my Delta flights to Europe over the past 8 months. From the first glass, I knew it was a keeper. Now I just order it without even looking at the wine selection brochure.

...back to watching the grass grow in sleepy Beverly Hills......Florida, that is :-)
