i forget who did this, you should be able to find it in the archives. they went to walmart or pepboys and bought running light covers for a trailer or something and glued/wire-tied them into the housing in front of the bulb. I believe you need the taller cover to clear the length of the bulb, but i don't know any specifics. do a search.

How long ago did you paint yours, and how are they holding up?

The paint will burn off if you don't let it dry or put too much on. I did 2 coats on the bulbs as soon as I took them out and I let them dry while doing the rest of the work. I also didn't need to drive my car for several hours so they got a chance to dry off.

I got two of them:

Delta Air-Dry PermEnamel in Citrus Yellow and Tangerine. I don't recall now which one I used. I may have even done one coat with each. They were $1.99 each from Hobby Lobby.
