one of my new favorite places...
Spoleto Festival going on, wonderful. His house is in the historic residential district -- just beautiful -- old, converted carriage house....dinner party with his friends first night, boating all day Saturday with a TT-worthy party crowd, and then a fabulous new restaurant, Tristan's. Touring the city all day Sunday and another fabulous dinner...today did Kiawah....Joel and Dave B. you are right, it's lovely.
After a perfect weekend, get on my 4:30 flight to Atlanta, doors close, when on come the State Troopers and Security, everybody off. Of course I missed my 6:30 Atlanta connection to LaGuardia and all other flights were sold out...so I was standby....7:30 no go, 8:30 no go, finally got the last standby seat in the last plane to LaGuardia tonight (thankfully, all flights tomorrow were booked)...just got home at 1:15 a.m. Oh, when we finally took off from Charleston, the pilot told us what happened...some idiot phoned in a bomb threat so they shut down the airport, the idiot then was stupid enough to call back at which point they traced the phone call and he had been arrested in Charleston before we even took off -- talk about a stupid lunatic. I hope they are putting bamboo shoots under his fingernails at this moment.
So, catch y'all tomorrow after I catch up with all your news ;-)
