as I have had the car for almost 40K and it is almost to 80K now. No clue if it has ever been done. I do know that audi said the owner was doing all the maintaining 10K in advance just to be safe. Either way I think it couldn't hurt so what does Bentley say and what do you all think? TIA

Spark Plugs
OE Plugs: NGK PFR6Q - .032" gap
For Stock Cars - .032" gap:
* NGK BKR6E
* Autolite 3923
* Denso Iridium IK20
For Chiped Cars - .028" gap:
* NGK BKR7E
* Autolite 3922
* Denso Iridium IK22
**Avoid all non copper plugs, reommend to change every or every other oil change to keep from misfiring.
General Rule of thumb: For every additional 50HP over stock, a general rule is 1 heat range colder and gap shrinks by .004
--So, a chipped 1.8T would make good use ofa plug one range colder gapped to .028
>Tightening torque 30Nm (22 ft-lb)
>Tightening torque for Coil Packs 7ft lbs

Must confess that I torqued by feel. Too lazy to get out torque wrench.
(However I used a gap guage for the plug gap rather than a matchbook cover :-) )

since I was getting a bit of detonation. I think they're working as claimed, haven't had any problems. I can do the swap in about 20 minutes if you want to swing by here.

If you go get a set for old blue then grab an extra one too and I will pay you back for them. If I get into work tomorrow then I will get Saturday off if you guys are not up to anything. If not then maybe monday or something...

and the blue car has PFR6Qs but will switch to the BKR7Es at the next change (whenever that is). I have brand new PFR6Qs sitting on the shelf with the rest of the spare parts that are yours if you want them. I've found both the PFR6Qs and BKR7Es at the local Napa tho if you want to do the BKR7Es instead.
We've got tentative plans for Saturday but like I said, plugs shouldn't take very long to do at all.
