My blue TT is in the shop having the front bumper repainted due to the grill rubbing through the paint at the bottom corners. As part of the process, I looked at two brand new (still in plastic) silver TT's at the dealership. BOTH of them were showing the beginnings of the same. This problem is caused by a VERY sharp edge on the grill itself and an extremely tight fit.
Repair has taken two weeks, the result of a damaged grill (you pretty much cannot remove it without damaging it, combined with the body shop's inexperience with the car and an ill fitting replacement grill.
Take the time to carefully examine your car for this paint damage. Mine became very visible after 2 months and 5000 miles.
