Default Blew a hose off of my diverter valve. Now I have a CEL.

It popped off yesterday on the highway, so I pulled over and popped it back on since I didn't really have a screwdriver.

Well, I forgot to tighten it before I left for work and it did it again. Popped it back on, tightened it... and as soon as I started my car back up I had a CEL.

This is the first time my CEL has ever come on, so I'm a little concerned.

I don't want to lose the code, so I figured I'd ask here before I pulled the battery cable.

If its from the hose blowing off I'll just reset it, if it could be something else... I'll leave it.

Thanks guys!

Default And how do you think we can tell if it is something other than the hose? Read it and tell us the

code. Go to AutoZone to get it read for free or find someone with a VAGCOM (or use this as a reason to get your own or one of Steve's new toys).

Default I didn't know if it was common for the CEL to come on after that is disconnected.

I just thought maybe someone knew off the top of their head.

Cel is from the hose blowing off. If you can't reconnect hose unplug the MAF to avoid limp mode.

Default That's all I needed to know.

Thanks!

Now I will disconnect my battery to reset it and save the hassle of the idiot at AutoZone trying to tell me I should get twin turbos.

The kid is a tool and my luck, he is ALWAYS there.
