Today I received a replacement adapter from BlitzSafe.
I installed in my 2002 S6 Avant and it works flawlessly with the iPod and Symphony II headunit.
The gain is balanced to equal the in-dash CD changer with the iPod volume set at about 80%.
I have found I can store the iPod and Nokia cell phone in the well under the center arm rest, and dress the wires out and down under the passenger seat where I connect audio and power.
Works grand, and everything is out of sight when not in use.
I have 8.6gigs of tunes on the 10gig iPod. -- Now all I need is a 30gig iPod.

I'd like to add an AUX input, preferably a 1/8" stereo mini-jack, between the changer and the head unit so that when nothing is plugged into the input jack, the CD changer passes through as normal. When something *is* plugged into the AUX input jack, the changer is bypassed and audio from the input jack is passed through.
Does the Blitzsafe cable work as described above or does it permanently disconnect the CD changer in favor of the aux input? I know that Jeff Bipes was working on a setup that does this, but it proved to costly and time-consuming, if I recall.
BTW, I'm jealous as I bought into the iPOD when only the 5GB model was available and it's fully maxed out right now.

Give me a few days. -- So far it seems the Aux works properly with the BlitzSafe adapter installed. I tried an interrupt using the Aux input and it seemed to work.
When I have an evening, I will see if introducing an audio signal into the Aux port will interrupt any active channel. If so, all your will need to do is plug your device into your jack and it will operate.
My purpose is to do a custom install of a Nokia phone to operate through the headunit. I have figured out a way to install a mic next to the sunroof control and use existing wiring to conduct the signal to an area near the fuse block. There I can pick off the signal, and route it to my controller located under the passenger seat.
