A general guide to reading exhaust smoke:
Black smoke = unburned fuel
Valves bad or out of adjustment? Carb out of adjustment?
Blue smoke = burning oil
Accelerating: Piston rings bad? Decelerating: Valve seats/guides bad?
White smoke = burning coolant!
Bad head gasket? Warped or cracked Head or Block?$$
Mark, when did you last have your oil changed? It could be over-filled or you have a worn piston ring.

...is indicative of the car burning oil, which obviously means that oil is somehow making its way into the cylinder. What and see what the experts think, though.

I think with lean you would/could get some backfiring, which can lead to piston damage. Not 100% certain though.

...color of the exhaust. Black exhaust and the A/F is rich, white exhaust, and the A/F is lean.

lean conditions and the color of the smoke. What Mark's problem most likely is is worn piston rings, which would seem VERY odd. He does not have many miles on his TT. I would not expect anything like that before 100,000 on these engines. I am NOT saying that is his problem, but everytime I have known anyone with blue smoke it is worn rings. . .
I told him in an e-mail to run a compression check on the engine. That should give him some answers. I also said to get to the dealer as well.
