Default BOOM!!! Tire blows without warning!!

Heard all about these OEM Bridgestones and now it happened to my 2001 TTR with 15,000 miles on it. I'm fastidious (sp) about tire pressures, etc (I'm on this forum aren't I?) and it blew ski-high on the on ramp to the interstate. Got the mickey mouse spare on to limp home and the side wall on the inside ripped out in TWO places. Audi better replace all FOUR tires pronto- they'd better not try to just replace the one or I'll be calling my lawyer... any other experiences around here???

one of mine blew and they pretty much just said, "man that had to suck...we have these in stock for almost $300 a tire when it's all said and done." good luck though

Default Tires don't usually give a warning prior to blowing. Sorry to hear of that potentially dangerous

incident.

Default They are replaced per the tire manufacturers warranty...NOT Audi's

And they probably will just replace the single tire... The Bridgestones you have are not the model that has made headlines on Ford Explorers...

Default Audi marketing plan: you survive, we replace...you die, we bank the money...

the tires on the Audi TTs with Bridgestone Blowtenzas are, IMHO, Audi's 'weakest link.' Glad you survived!

Default You got 15K out of a AAA Z rated tire and are going to call a lawyer if they don't give you 4 more?

come on, take a little realism trip here.

I don't understand why folks are posting messages about the evils of the Potenza 040 but at the same time are taking them to 15K, 20K miles when they aren't designed to do that. These are short use (8K - 12K) high performance tires.

If you want something that'll last 15K - 30K get a Toyo Proxes FZ4 or Pirelli 7000 SS.
