Default The Bose system is WAY overrated

The sound quality is okay, not great or bad, I will admit my Chevy Impala company car has better sound. The Bass is lost when the volume is above 14, which isn't really that loud either. The AudioPilot from Bose is noise cancellation which is annoying as hell, it's a glorified auto volume. Which I turned off the Audi auto volume. And the Bose noise cancellation you can not, it adjust the volume up and down, up and down...drives me crazy...174 watts and 7 speaker, my cheap made in Tawian radio sounds better

Default Agreed; however, it is tuned for jazz/classical/instrumental music (read: natural sounds) and not...

... music most young people listen to. I play mostly techno and it sounds like **** on my Bose, but the Bose is simply not tuned for that. The argument that it's a "better quality" sound (from the company's pitch) is pretty much moot with people who mostly listen to hard rock, rap and techno. It doesn't matter to those people how "good" the sound is; it doesn't have the punch that they like (me included).

Note that you can kill the Bose option with a VAG-COM tool. Many people like it better.

Default Your right, it sucks for rock, alternative and techno, all my favs too :(

As for VAG-COM tool, will my dealer simply turn it off for me? Or would a hammer take care of the situation?!

Default You'd probably have to pay for an hour of shop time to get the dealer to do it...

Alternatively, you could search the VAG Tool Locator list (a little webpage maintained by some VW/Audi guy that is a list of all people, by city and state, who have VAG-COM and are willing to share). I don't know where it is, however... sorry. Search for it here, I guess...
